Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW)
The Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW) was established in 1986 for organizing and co-coordinating appropriate student services in the University. In Mahatma Gandhi University, services are made an integral part of education. These services are aimed at assisting in the students’ holistic development: Physical, Social, Emotional and Intellectual. They are necessary supplements to academic work to ensure the overall development of students.
The Department of Students’ Welfare (DSW) functions to ensure the overall well-being and development of students in the institution. The department plays an important role in coordinating various welfare activities, providing support services, and implementing university and government schemes for the benefit of students.
DSW facilitates student services such as scholarships, insurance schemes, and financial assistance. It also organizes awareness programmes, counselling sessions, and initiatives that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being among students.
In addition, the department coordinates student participation in university-level cultural and extracurricular activities and works to create a safe and supportive campus environment. Through these activities, the Department of Students’ Welfare aims to enhance the academic experience and holistic development of students.
